ice cube’s got nothing on me.
day off. franklin, tennessee.
spent 4 hours walking between
barnes and noble & whole foods.
rock and roll debauchery at it’s finest, my friends.
lock up your kids.
made a stop off at marble slab creamery
and got in good with some cinnamon
vanilla ice cream with heath bar.
which ruled.
whoever came up with the idea of iced cream
should have their own holiday.. cause that shit
is way more fun than passover. or 4th of july.
plus, those kids working there have got to be
building up to some serious forearm burnout…
and could probably use a day off.
hung out with friends tonight…
blu and aben.
blu is a singer/songwriter here in nash-vegas
aben used to play guitar for me, but he graduated
up a few flights to kelly clarkson.
SINCE HE’S BEEN GONE, we have had aaron
playing guitar… (hahaha, i kill myself!)
seriously though, it was a nice hang.
it is always great to see dear friends on tour.
not to be confused with deer friends… friends who
are actually deer… like in that fall out boy video…
and tennessee is beautiful right now.
it’s 1am, and i just came in from watching a lightning
storm… just sat in a field by myself behind the bus,
and watched the sky have a freak out.
it was amazing.
buffy time now. then sleep.
a good day.

hah, matt! i love it
and the fall out boy reference is great =P
your songs are good without random words
you should insert “wolverine hybrid” in a song sometime as a secret message

Sounds like heaven (the ice cream and the lightning)..only, it MUST be mint chocolate chip, sans heath bar…:)
in lieu of a proper lightning show, I’ve been known to watch the fireflies :p
ahhh Summer, thank god I have children to re-live it through :p
good day, indeed

Sounds like a good day! I used to work at Baskin Robbins in high school. I had forearms like Popeye after a spinach bender.
Hurry up and come home! San Fran misses you (and I need to see you play again).

ice cream, barnes and noble, AND whole foods all in one day? once you throw buffy into the mix they’ll definitely have to put you down as the craziest rock star of all time

just realized how much the last part of your post reminds me of a something corporate song
it’s kind of funny actually. maybe it means something.
“you live the life you’re given with the storms outside
and some days all I do is watch the sky
today was a good day
today was a good day… ”
-watch the sky by something corporate
anyway, i love your music, i first saw you at the warfield last month and loved your performance and have been listening to your cds a lot lately. keep it up.
peace.

Dear matt, im sorry this is probably not the right place to write this but i just needed to find a way to contact you. Your song “come on, get higher”… it really touches me. I went on this incredible vacation to Miami a couple of weeks ago with alllll my community and all my friends. it was possibly the most amazing vacation in my life. What i did was, your song, i listened to it in the airport, on the plane, landing & rising. I would look over my balcony into miami beach and see the ocean and think of your song. Now back at home, i hear your song and i start to cry. I just wanted to share this with you because its incredible, what your music has done to me. Your voice is amazing, your song is so pure. Please message me back xoxo emily<3

Anyone who gets a kick out of a lightening show and a scoop of ice cream is pretty great in my book. Looking forward to the show here in Austin on Sunday. You must check out Amy’s Ice Creams while enjoying our fair city — Mexican Vanilla is the only way to go.

ok….SO I drove to Memphis in May to see you (6 hours!)…. first time Live! WOOHOO! I was right up by the stage and totally captured by you. My original plan had been to kidnap you… LOL my friends laughed all the way there…even told the cops I was stealing you if I could get across the bar…LOL You smile the whole time you sing and that makes it amazing… it makes everyone else smile too..not to mention you look angelic! Had I known you were behind the bus I would have went to jail or been on CNN for sure! dang it! LOL hahah
So although my plan didn’t work…the night ended fun we went to the Peabody hotel in the lounge and actually sat and talked with the Steve Miller band for about two hours! fun fun!
