ah!

this new bloc party song is absolutely crushing me.
it makes me feel like i’m in a john hughes movie.
aching and perfect and busting at the seams with joy!
i have been obsessively listening to it off their myspace.
yay!
please let the whole record be fucking great… please!
as of late, i realize that i am in dire need of a record to save me.
i would like this one to be it.

i’m in nyc. we rehearsed today with new drummer canadian lyle.
i think john actually had a man-type sex release in his pants
during “amazing again.” it was THAT good. fucking flawless.
he totally gives us a sense of confidence that i think we lost
on the last tour…. or at least we buried. it’s nice to have it back.
wish we were heading out on a real tour soon,
so you could all hear his bad ass-ness. who knows,
maybe we’ll do a few more shows before the next real tour.

and finally, we start tracking the rest of the new record in a few weeks.
as usual, i am frantically trying to finish the new songs.
this time, i’m actually confident that we’ll be going in with
finished songs to play off of.. instead of a bunch of mush mouth
lyrics and half written arrangements.
death cab jason mcgerr will be manning the skins, which makes me the
MOST happy. he’s so fucking creative and is a human of epic greatness
so, i’m totally looking forward to it! the results AND the process….
oooh, look at me, getting all dali lama on you.
